Bon bini na Bonaire! Welcome to Bonaire!
Like many others we had a dream about starting a new life on a tropical island. For us this dream came through in February 2010 when we moved to the small island of Bonaire to build a small but intimate guesthouse casa calexico, where guests would have “a home away from home” feeling
We have been living in here on Bonaire since February 2010 and Casa-Calexico has become a great success
In 2015 we got a chance to start (built/renovate) a new guesthouse: we named it Kas Hamaka which also became very well known on the island and a huge succes
In 2020 we decided to take it a bit more easy and per 1 november we sold Casa Calexico

But let me first introduce ourselves: my husband (Joop) and me (Audrey) met each other in 1990. In 2000 we decided to get married in Borneo and we got infected with the travel bug! The next 10 years we travelled a lot to Asia, Africa, the Pacific and the Caribbean. During our travels we started fantasizing about starting are own little hotel, resort, b&b or guesthouse in a place where the sun always shines. It turns out we fell in love with a beautiful wooden house on the small but very friendly island of Bonaire: casa-calexico
In 2015 plans began to form about a new guesthouse. A friend bought an old traditional Antillean house on the boulevard that needed renovation. Together we came up with some ideas and Kas Hamaka was born
So in 2016 we opened the doors of a this new amazing oceanfront guesthouse Kas Hamaka. Since then we have host guests from all over the world and are looking forward to welcome YOU in our unique oceanfront paradise

Kas Hamaka is an easy few minuts walk from Kralendijk. Audrey is a fantastic host, she loves to share all the informasjon she has. Very solution oriented and always available. Rent a car from them, cheaper then other places on Bonaire and flexible when you return the car. Very clean place!

Kas Hamaka has it all: perfect location, relaxing atmosphere, delicate apartments, warm and welcoming hosts. Like other reviews says; maybe we should keep Kas Hamaka like a secrete, to make sure it’s room for us next time!?

Every year in May we come back to Kas Hamaka. For us it is the perfect place to stay.
We stayed at apartment Prikichi, in the yellow colonial building, with a large terrace, view on the street and sea. Staying in this apartment make you feel part of the local life. Close to the center and best snorkeling just in front of the house :)
